Radio!

Well, who knew that I’d end up doing a radio show?! It was completely last minute/short notice/off the cuff, but well worth it. I did an hour slot for www.radioplus.org.uk with Dave Palmer hosting the show. Lots of fun. Coventry, I hope you like me. Radio is proof that my brain and my mouth ARE connected.

From A to B to A

So, I usually love train journeys, but for some reason, carrying my keyboard and stand through the busy station wasn’t so enjoyable. I can’t think why… On the plus side, I’m on my way to do a gig in Leicester with Serita Cheeks from the USA. She’s ultra talented and ultra chilled. I loved playing my last gig, the new songs went down well. More of the same tonight I hope. I won’t think about the journey back.

A new feeling

One of my new songs has got me singing from some place that I didn’t even know existed. It’s a love song, I don’t really write them, but this one just poured out. When I sing it, it makes sense and it feels right, but when I hear it back, it’s as though it were written by some other woman, completely in love. It’s funny what comes out when you put pen to paper. Sometimes I have no idea what I’m going to write until it’s just there. Fantastic, and scary. Seeing my heart on paper is so strange but I my songs are for sharing, I can’t stop doing that.

Keep on writing…

I don’t know how this works, but I go through periods when I don’t write a single song, and then out of nowhere, I get two in one day! I’m not complaining at all, I just don’t understand it.
